Homemade meal in Japan

This meal is the dinner I had at my high school Japanese teacher’s home in Oita, Japan. We had salad, gyoza, and beef stew that evening, and it warms my heart every time I think about it. I stayed at their home that night, and we walked around the city together after dinner. It’s moments like these that remind me why I wanted to learn another language and make me fantasize more about other Japanese food and culture I was going to try in the future. (I ended up with an East Asian Studies Major with a Japanese specialization)
